Inspec-
tion
1. Rotor Bearing will be checked for oil
daily if the unit is exposed to the hot sun or
the unit is installed in an airplane which has
been sitting in the hot sun for a period of two
hours or more. Do not oil excessively
2. Turn on all switches. Check operation
of all moving parts.
CAUTION:
1. Check Voltage Each Time Sight Is Used.
2. After Oiling Bearings, Always Run Gyro
About Ten Minutes and Clean Commutator
and Brushes.
4. 15 Hour
Inspec-
tion
1. Visual inspection of case.
2. Check wiring for frayed insulation, loose ter-
minals and loose connections.
3. Check clutches for tensions and operation.
Clean if necessary:
a. Bombsight
b. Auto-pilot
c. Drift-Clutch
4. Check for oiling and corrosion.
If gyro rotor bearings are lubricated, run
gyro for 10 minutes, remove brushes and clean
commutator, brushes and brush tubes with carbon
tet. Wipe with clean white dry cloth.
5. Inspect gears for burrs and dirt.
6. Check isolated sector and contact made by
stabilizer brush.
7. Check slip rings and contact of slip ring
brushes.
8. Check telescope light.
9. Check action of all moving parts.
10. Clean glass.
11. Clean disc and roller.
12. Check disc speed.
13. If, during check, there is indication of mal-
functioning find trouble and correct.
If a 15 hour inspection is performed, the
accumulated number of days for the next 15 day
inspection will be dropped and started from zero.
