Turnon stabilizer gyro and

let it warm up

Turn on torque motor:

5. Clutch in auto-pilot clutch with stabil-

ized brush on zero.

6. If the gyro does not precess any notice-

able amount in 15 minutes, it is all right. If it

precesses

more than 1° per hour (stabilized brush

moves off zero)

rebalance as follows.

If it pre-

clockwise,

looking from the top, remove

weight from the

end opposite the commutator

and vise-versa.

CAUTION: Do not loosen the field

retaining screws. Do not lose spacer, under bear-

ing cap.
