Stabilizer directional gyro

A horizontal-axis gyro unit carried in a vertical-axis cardan, with electrical transfer, precession and balance fittings.

Follow the mechanism

The rotor turns inside its case. The case tilts about horizontal gudgeons inside the cardan.

The cardan rotates on vertical gudgeons. Its ring gear, slip rings and contact-sector relationship belong to that outer motion.

Open the enclosure, spin the rotor, tilt the case or separate the assemblies to compare the nested axes.

Geometry follows the cited drawings and photographs. Unmeasured dimensions remain approximate; exploded spacing reveals existing model groups rather than a prescribed disassembly procedure.
