Directional gyro cardan

The cast support frame, upper and lower gudgeons, ring gear and four slip rings surrounding the directional gyro unit.

Vertical gudgeons support the cardan’s azimuth rotation. The gyro case is carried on a separate horizontal axis inside the frame.

The ring gear receives the stabilizer torque drive. Slip rings maintain the electrical connections as the cardan turns.

The lower gudgeon is hollow so the precession actuator can pass through it.

Geometry follows the cited drawings and photographs. Unmeasured dimensions remain approximate; exploded spacing reveals existing model groups rather than a prescribed disassembly procedure.
